Spots for Disco Shroom Summer Camp are limited to just 30 campers per session, so be sure to sign up as soon as possible! To reserve your child’s spot, please complete the sign-up form right away. Once all spots are filled, the form will no longer be available. We are so excited for a summer full of crafting, creativity, music, and fun with all of you! Summer Schedule
🌈 Monday – Color Splash Kickoff (Color Science!)
Campers kick off the week with colorful fun by designing their own tie-dye T-shirts 👕🎨 and painting mushroom or disco-themed rocks 🍄🪩 to decorate their spaces. They’ll also begin junk journaling 📓✂️, creating personalized journals using collage materials and creative expression.
🔬 STEAM Focus: Color & Absorption
Campers will explore color mixing using primary colors and observe how dyes spread differently on paper and fabric. They’ll discover how materials absorb liquids and how new colors are created through blending.
💫 Tuesday – Clay Creations (Sculpting & Design)
Campers will get hands-on with air-dry clay 🪨✨ as they design and create their own trinket dishes and mini sculptures. Once their creations are dry, they’ll paint and decorate them 🎨 to make one-of-a-kind keepsakes.
🔬 STEAM Focus: Form & Structure
Campers will explore how shapes are built, how clay can be molded and strengthened, and how artists and engineers use structure to create functional and decorative pieces.
🕶️ Wednesday – Cool Creations Day (Light & Design)
Campers will design custom sunglasses 😎✨, create fun keychains 🔑🎨, and explore mosaic art by piecing together colorful designs 🧩🌈.
🔬 STEAM Focus: Light & Transparency
Campers will test how different colored lenses affect what they see and explore how light passes through materials. Through mosaics, they’ll also examine how light interacts with color, reflection, and design.
✨ Thursday – Sparkle & Decor Day (Forces & Magnets)
Campers will paint mini canvas art 🖌️🖼️, decorate picture frames 🖼️💎, and turn their creations into refrigerator magnets 🧲 to take home.
🔬 STEAM Focus: Magnetism
Campers will investigate which materials magnets attract and explore the concept of invisible forces through hands-on testing and sorting activities.
🪩 Friday – Disco Party Creations (Chemistry Fun!)
Campers will create disco-inspired crafts ✨🪩, including decorating flower pots or making their own disco-themed creations 🌸🪴. We’ll wrap up the week by making homemade ice cream 🍦 and celebrating with a fun-filled party of music, dancing, and games 🎉🎤.
🔬 STEAM Focus: States of Matter
While making ice cream, campers will observe how liquids turn into solids and learn how salt lowers the freezing point, transforming ingredients into a delicious treat.
What to Bring to Camp
Camp for the full 4 day program, students should bring a packed lunch and a refillable water bottle to stay energized and hydrated throughout the day. If your camper would like additional snacks, they are welcome to bring extra food as needed.
For half-day campers, please be sure to send a water bottle and snacks to keep them fueled during their time at camp.
